Justin is trying to break out of the hair-flipping tween sensation schtick and be taken seriously, so I get why he's frustrated that it's not easy to outgrow.
But I also get PJ's point. This attitude is quite dismissive of his fanbase and his career beginnings, favouring to "impress cool people".
Biebs is in a tough position though, because you can tell he wants to be seen as a "serious artist" who makes grown up R&B/pop, but he has to pander to his fanbase of teen girls...who in turn are somewhat of a hindrance to his growth because he can't break out of that image with them in tow. It doesn't help that he looks closer to 16 than 18. Ideally he kind of needs to disappear, bulk up and come back Justin Timberlake'd...but his label/management won't allow that because his future is uncertain whilst they know he's a guaranteed cash cow now.
Just my two cents.
