Tulisa: "Celebrities are fake"
Quote:
Tulisa Contostavlos says modern day celebrities are "fake".
The 24-year-old singer wants to single-handedly bring the "realness" back to the music industry because she thinks most people are pretending to be something they're not for the cameras.
Speaking on ITV1's 'Daybreak', Tulisa said: "I think the celebrities today, not all of them, but just the whole industry frustrates me because it is so fake. People pretend to be, a lot of the time, what they're not.
"And I don't know, it's just this whole façade that's being portrayed to the public which isn't the real case. These are all real people and I just find it silly and unnecessary, and so I want to bring that realness to this industry and say: 'Well actually, I'm actually a human being, we're not all like that'."
The 'Live It Up' hitmaker - who was left red-faced earlier this year after her ex-boyfriend Justin Edwards leaked a sex tape of her online - says her recent experiences have made her more laid back and "not bothered" about the idea of young girls looking up to her and she now just wants to focus on being confident in herself.
Tulisa said: "I think I'm a lot more relaxed about everything at the minute. Whether it comes to media pressure or anything, I've become a bit laid back and actually not bothered.
"I'd say over this past year there's been a transition where I've felt like I was a young woman - to now, a woman."
In a live webchat yesterday, Tulisa said the one thing she'd like to be remembered for would be a great single or album. She also said that if she did not have a singing and TV career, she would have been an archaeologist. Who knew?! We have some excerpts from the chat below, and a clip too with an exsclusive, first-ever airing of her new single 'Damn'.
