"About You Now", "Push The Button", "Hole In The Head" and "Round Round" are in NO WAY better than this.

Someone go make sure Mandarke is okay....
74. Cheryl Cole- Promise This (6.513)
Highest score: 10 x7 (supaspaz, Mandarke, JDella11, Regina George, Kool_Aid_Kig, Sporefan, berberocka)
Lowest score: 0 x1 (VJoker)
An unflattering picture of the Nation's Sweetheart Cheryl Cole:
Alouette-ette-ette! The shock eliminations are coming in thick and fast tonight! Recorded and performed live whilst the UK was very much firmly in the bosom of our Nation's Sweetheart's Geordie charms, Cheryl managed to keep a certain Ms. Fenty off the top of the charts for a week with a huge 157,000 sales.
Of course, the song capitalises on a messy break-up with former beau Ashley Cole, but also Cheryl's life-threatening, not-at-all-dramatised malaria was played upon quite frequently- including at every moment possible ever on Series 7 of UK X Factor. When performed live on the show, there was quite the storm over whether Cheryl mimed or performed live. ITV deny her miming....but just like the answer to Beyoncé's writing credits or what lies inder Gaga's under-section...we just don't know.
Jinzo's verdict: 9.5
Near-perfect, but the "Alouette" hook is just dated as hell now.

73. Emma Bunton-sus- What Took You So Long? (6.526)
Highest score: 10 x7 (jinzo, Stevie, HaHa2011, Mandarke, lovesong, airbornE, classicmainstream)
Who even are you and why are you allowed the Internet?: 0 x1 (Cassiopeia)
An unflattering picture of Princess Emma Bunton:
AM FUMING x2. Shot in the Mojave Desert as the lead single for the oddly-familiar sounding album A Girl Like Me, Emma serves pop-rock realness. Her one and only #1 as a soloist thus far, she proves herself a vocalist on a par with any other of those Spice bitches, regardless of how often she was overlooked by everyone else back in the good old days.
Jinzo's verdict: 10
The best single by a solo Spice ever. There is no dispute.

And with 8 songs, of course, that is your lot for tonight.
Shall we wrap up by far the most controversial night we've had yet?
73. What Took You So Long? 6.526
74. Promise This 6.513
75. Freak Like Me 6.461
76. Run This Town 6.395
77. Groovejet (If This Ain't Love) 6.365
80. Goodies 6.329
80. I Kissed A Girl 6.329
80. The Tide Is High (Get the Feeling) 6.329
...and let me tell you, tomorrow it does NOT get any easier.

Freak Like Me is top 10 and Promise This is top 20. The fact that they were beaten by a PCD song, a Pink song and and all of Gaga's songs is just heartbreaking.
I need some time to process this ********.

One of the worst updates in a rate. Ever.
It's just beyond words how incomprehensible these eliminations are. Wow.

You will burn in flames: 1 x2 (Strangergab, jqnetto)
An unflattering picture of a Sugababe:
AM FUMING. I'd truly say this is the first shocker of the rate so far, I'm absolutely appalled it's so low! The début of now-iconic middle-8 chanteuse Heidi Range, it went on to sell over 275,000 copies. Borrowing a sound effect at the start of the song from the 1981 video game Frogger, the song was originally intended as an underground dance track for producer Richard X as the alias Girl On Top. However, after failing to gain clearance from this cover song's original vocalist, Adina Howard, Mr. X allowed our Babes to record it. How I do very much miss when the girls were this talented...
Jinzo's verdict: 10
Seriously? One of the most brilliant girlband songs of the 21st Century not even in the Top 70? Outrageous.
|
This makes no sense. One of the most audacious things a mainstream pop act has ever done, and much better than the mashup (Gary Numan v. Adina Howard) that inspired it.

So The Ketchup Song is still in the game? Gaga and Christina still didn't lose a song?
I don't care much about Freak Like Me, but What Took You So Long and Promise This are top20 material.

Las Ketchup are amazing though, a solid 10/10 from me! And judging by its score, it seems that many agree with me.

Only gave ATIH a 10 because of Nostalgia (same reason I gave that Play song a 10)
Goodies shoulda been higher & so should Run This Town. Mess.
Oh and Promise This was a cute song. Sad to see it leave before the top 50
