She never said there was anything wrong with it, though. I mean, she's done sexual songs, too. I think what gives her pause is that not only is music nowadays overly sexualized, it's also often quite aggressive in tone. I can see her point (even if I don't fully agree).

cyndi lauper is alive. But the music industry is dying.
The oversexual songs are pathetic to get attention of the audience. Get real, in 3-5 years there be no more music industry in that sense of the word that we know it.

As a redux, I think that aggressive misogynistic sexual music has no place, and I think that's what Cyndi was saying.

However sexual music that empowers women should be encouraged (and Cyndi was one of the first people to really do that)
