Her battle to shed the baby weight has been a constant staple of the tabloids.
But even accounting for the slimming effects of black Jessica Simpson looked noticeably more slender as she stepped out in a Roland Mouret dress in New York today.

Now for lunch! Jessica Simpson and fiance Eric Johnson stepped out in New York today after recording her interview with Katie Couric
She and her fiance Eric Johnson then headed out for a well-earned lunch.
Talking to Couric Jessica admitted she was nervous about her appearance.
'I almost peed my pants, I'm very nervous,' she said.
And she said that appearing on the show had been driving her weight loss.
'I've just had a lot of pressure on me and today was actually one of my goals,' she told Katie. 'Getting here in a comfortable and beautiful dress'
With the eyes of the world on her, Jessica said her weight loss had been somewhat stressful.
'It's a lot. My poor fiance,' she laughed.
Like any new mother Jessica has expressed a desire to get back to her pre-pregnancy size. But unlike most she is been paid a heady amount to do so.

However it is not as easy as it sounds, as she revealed she has to walk because of her bumper bust.
Post-baby: Jessica in June, when she began her workout regime six weeks after her daughter's birth
She said: 'My boobs are way too big to run at this point. I'm just walking.'
And she claims that she is no different to any new mother.
'I'm not a supermodel. My body is not bouncing back like a supermodel.
'I'm just your everyday woman who is trying to feel good and be healthy for her daughter, her fiancé and herself.'
She put on a crazy amount of weight when she was pregnant, so I'm not surprised she's struggling to get her old body back. She's better off losing the weight sensibly anyway.
Whyyy would they put her in that ugly outfit that does nothing for her, except smushes her boobs, and draws attention straight to her stomach. Like a flowy skirt and a flowy top, cmon now
