Anna (borntodie)

My interview with Anna was conducted over webcam since I refuse to be on your camp site.
Hello,
Congratulations on making it to the Finale of Survivor: ATRL Edition. One More Event will occur before one of you is crowned Season 1 Winner of Survivor: ATRL Edition. Today I have some questions for you regarding your game. After my interview I will have you answer the other questions from the Jury and Judges.
Hello Dylan!
How have you enjoyed being part of this Tournament? Anything special?
I had a great time being a part of this tournament, more than I would ever have imagined! I thought it would be just a game, but it ended up being much more than that. I learned a lot about others and also about myself, I've made friends and I've discovered new music, so all in all, it was a great experience.
Did you have a strategy coming in here or no? What were your initial thoughts?
I didn't have a strategy at all, to be honest. I thought I'd just sign up and play and then see what happens. I didn't expect to make it very far because I was still relatively new to ATRL, I didn't know anyone and felt more like an outsider.
What was the hardest round for you personally? Why?
I think Round 16, where I had to send in the best Kelly Clarkson album track. I'm not familiar with her discography, I only know a few of her early singles, so it was hard for me to decide what non-single of hers could have been a hit.
Who did you expect to see in The Top 3 in your honest opinion? Why?
Nicole (DanceForYou) – She was a strong player, nice to everyone and I thought our alliance would help her make it to the top.
Ethan – He also had consistent scores and he always seemed a bit mysterious to me.. I expected him to have his victory all planned out.
Nick (potent) – He was just a good player, one of the biggest threats in my opinion.
Which one of your competitors is the least deserving of being here? Why?
I have to go with David, simply because I think he is the weakest player out of the three of us. Slim is the one who won the most rounds/most immunities if I remember correctly, he definitely deserves to be here in the final.
Why do you think you made it to this point in the competition?
That's a good question. Well, I think there's several reasons, first of all the fact that I just wanted this so much. As the game went on, I realized that I was enjoying it so much more than expected, and I was not willing to give that up anytime soon. So I really fought for my place in the top 3, with each round I put more thought into my submissions and I also worked on my strategy. I invested a lot of time and effort into this and that helped me earn my spot in the final. However, we've all seen that good scores don't mean you're safe, so of course I wouldn't have gotten this far without my connections with other players and the alliance I was a part of. And last but not least, I think I might have had a little bit of luck, too.
Any regrets in the competition? Anyone you'd like to apologize to?
Hmm, I can't think of anything right now. As far as I know, I'm on good terms with all players – even the ones I voted against, they know it was just a part of the game and I don't have anything against anyone here personally.
What was your best move in the game? Why?
My best move was without a doubt eliminating Ethan. I saved myself with that, not just because I was supposed to leave that round, but also because he was one of my biggest competitors in general and without him, it could only get easier for me in the game.
Why don't your competitors deserve to win?
David – Like I mentioned before, he is the weakest player score-wise. And please, David, don't take this the wrong way, but I just didn't see a lot of personality or strategy from you in the game; you rather let others make decisions instead of making them yourself and that's also why I think you got to the final, you just managed to always side with the right people. For me, that's not characteristic of a winner.
Slim – Well, if we were going by scores, you'd be the winner of this. But I think there's more to winning than placing first on the leader board most of the time.. Your song choices every round seemed pretty safe and predictable to me, you took the easy way to get good scores and that's not very impressive to me. Another thing is that I'm just not sure if you really, really want to win this? Your little ego-trip before the last elimination was the first time I saw that you were eager to win this game and also willing to do something for it. I don't think you believe in yourself enough, when Ethan was still here you believed in him more than in yourself; that shows great loyalty, but come on. I don't see that burning desire to finish first in this competition. So yeah, these are the two reasons I don't think you deserve to win.
Last question....Why do YOU deserve to win based on YOUR actions?
I think I'm the player who grew the most during the course of the game. I went from sending in rushed submissions to choosing my entries more wisely, and my scores reflect that; at the same time, I stuck with my 'mission' to bring something new to the table: I always wanted use songs/artists that I, personally, love and relate to, regardless of their degree of popularity, chart success or genre. I always stayed true to my music taste, even with average scores, which was risky and deserves to be recognized.
I was one of the more active players in the thread, not so much in the beginning, but as I got to know people I came out of my shell and took more and more part in conversations (except the nasty ones, cause I'm too classy for that

) and I spent a lot of time in the thread. Just like I stayed true to my taste in music, I also stayed true to myself as a person – I was nice, honest and loyal. Of course I also thought of what was best for myself, so I made alliances, but there was no backstabbing or drama. I didn't make any enemies, and I didn't just use my allies to protect myself, either: I actually became friends with them, something I'm thankful for because it will remain beyond this game. I stuck with them until the very end and always did everything to save my friends. The only time I couldn't do that was when it was either me or them, and I believe it is legitimate to want to save yourself in that case.
In my opinion, these aspects show that I took the game seriously and was ambitious to make it far, yet I never tried to move forward in an unfair way, which I can't say of everyone who was a part of this competition.
Despite some players' efforts, I always managed to escape elimination; I won the tie against Jone, and I remained in the game over Medo and Ethan – both of these times, it was me who the others had originally planned to vote out. I think that makes me a true survivor.
Any final things to say?
I'd just like to say again that this game was a lot of fun for me and I loved being a part of it. I got to know all you wonderful people and I definitely feel more at home on ATRL now, and I also had some personal experiences that are important to me. I discovered my fighting spirit and I learned not to take certain things too seriously, among other things (yeah, it was not always as easy to keep my cool as it seemed). So I'd just like to thank you, Dylan, for hosting this game, thank you for all the effort and time you sacrificed for this; thank you, judges, for taking the time to listen to all the entries and rate them every round; and thank you, fellow players, for making this game such a great competition.
My Personal Questions:
Some may say you are just the safe choice for a win as you were in the middle of the pack most of the game? What do you think about that?
I don't disagree with that; however, some players have been doing quite well in this game using safe choices, so why not the judges, too?
I'm finding it a bit difficult to find ways to ask you nerve wracking questions. Do you think that's a good thing or a bad thing? Why?
I can see it being both, to be honest. Yes, I never shared much information about myself during this game, I didn't have any meltdowns and I stayed out of drama, keeping it cute. I am aware that that doesn't make me much of a target, and some people might think that's boring.
However, if it's difficult to find nerve-wracking questions for me, it means that I was a fair player who didn't do anyone/anything wrong, and that's definitely a good thing for me.
Do you believe being nice is a reason to win?
I believe it should be
one of the reasons why someone would be chosen as the winner, because I think it is important to be on good terms with your fellow players in a game like this; not for the sake of alliances, but rather to make it enjoyable and fun for everyone. I do not think it should be the
only reason why someone would win this competition.
Do you think you rode Nicole and Timmy's coattails to the Top 12?
Kind of. A little bit. I mean, Timmy came up with the alliance and most of the elimination plans before the top 12, and I didn't really know any other players at that time so the alliance was a very safe place for me to be. I wouldn't say that I wouldn't have been able to get that far on my own, but it was definitely useful for me to be on their side at the time.
Do you think t.A.T.u. being in the Top 12 would have made your alliance a major threat?
Absolutely. t.A.T.u. (I don't even know your name, I feel weird!) was a strong player, and having 4 out of 12 possible votes would have made it easier to have eliminations go our way.
Monkey asks:
Did you vote off Monkey? If so, why?
Yes, I voted you off. The reasons were: You did not stand out to me as a player, you were not active in the thread (from what I remember), you did not defend yourself before the elimination, and we weren't friends, either. Sorry.
DanceForYou (Nicole) asks:
Anna, what was your best asset that you had to help you in the game?
Nice question! Hmm.. I think it was my personality, it just fit really well with this game. I stay away from drama, so I didn't become anyone's target. I'm friendly and can get along with anyone, that was definitely helpful when getting to know the other players; plus loyalty is important to me, and once the others saw I had their back, they also had mine (mostly..). All these traits really worked out to my advantage.
Mickey asks:
How many people have I had sex with? I'll vote for whoever's guess is the closest.

Mickey, I always knew you're a funny guy from the answers you sent in for the What's On ATRLer's minds game. That was very entertaining.
Well, let me think.. my guess is 3.14
Luigi asks:
If you could replace one contestant in the top three with Luigi, who would it be?
Honestly, I'm glad you asked “could” and not “had to”, because I would not like to replace any of the other two with you. I just don't know you at all, and I don't think you were a better player than either of them.
Are you shocked that you made it this far?
Shocked sounds very negative, I'd rather say I'm surprised. Like I mentioned, I didn't think I'd get very far when I entered this game; there have also been some crazy things like blindsides etc happening, so considering these aspects, yes, I am somewhat surprised that I made it.
Out of all the contestants eliminated in the game, who do you think deserved to be in the top three the most?
Nicole.
What do you think was the most shocking elimination of the entire season?
Nicole. It wasn't even unexpected for me, I knew about it and was trying to save her but the only person who could have helped turned his back on her/us and that was what shocked me the most.
TimmyInTheWell asks:
Would you rather have hot sandy beach sex with slimshady or rihannabiggestfan? or both at the same time? :sex:
I'd rather have hot sandy beach sex with you, tbh
Let's say you don't win... out of the other two contestants, which would you rather see win?
I'ma say Slim cause he had the better scores overall.
Who was your LEAST favorite person in the top 12 and why?
I don't have a least favorite person, as lame as it sounds. So I'm gonna choose stereo.love, 'cause if I remember correctly, he failed to send in his entry and that's just not cool.
Ethan asks:
Why should you win?
I fought the hardest to get here, I took the biggest risks, I had the best strategy, and I'm just the most unique player out of the three of us.
Who was your favorite fellow contestant? Why?
Damn this is tough! I might get hate for this but I have to say Timmy. He is the one I've known the longest, he's hilarious and an incredibly nice guy, and we both saved each other's asses a few times in this game. Love you, boo.
An honorable mention goes to Slim, who is also a really sweet guy and introduced me to the wonderful Taylor Swift. I'll never forget that!
Ray Bass asks:
Who do you consider is the weakest player within the Top 3?
David.
Give me 5 words that describe your journey throughout this game.
One hell of a ride
Do you regret something you've done this game? If so, what is it?
Nope, no regrets.
Why do you consider yourself the true winner of Survivor ATRL: Season 1?
I think I made the biggest progress as a player and I put the most effort into this game.
As I've already answered to Dylan's question, I turned from a weak, underdog player into a force to be reckoned with; all thanks to my scores, strategy and social skills. I survived three tribal councils where I was pretty much off the island already but managed to turn the tide in my favor. No one was able to bring me down, and I think that's quite the achievement and should be honored.
Please enlighten me on your strategy to get Medosuxx out and not yourself the night you were supposed to be eliminated. Step by step.
It was more of a last resort than a strategy. I never intended to vote him out, but then I had to in order to save myself. I knew it was me against him, so I went and talked to some people, telling them to make their decisions wisely. In the end they voted him off.
What do you think of each judge...honestly.
Dylan – You're a great host and judge, open-minded and fair, and a really nice guy, don't ever change please.
Ray – I like you, your taste seems to be a bit different from that of the other judges so you brought some variety into the panel, and you were also fair and unbiased.
Ryan – You're the most controversial judge, that's not a secret. I think you were too harsh in the beginning and rated too much according to your personal taste; however, you adjusted your M.O. in the later rounds and were definitely more fair then, thank you for that. I don't know you very well but I don't have anything against you, and I don't get why so many people on here seem to hate you.
Alexz – I kinda wish you had been here from the start, your addition to the jury was like a fresh breeze in this game. You always seemed a bit mysterious to me because I don't see you around ATRL much and I don't know much about you, but I have no complaints about your judging.
Generally, I'd like to say that I think the judges were well-chosen and all did a great job. You explained your decisions well (mostly), and even though I did not always agree with you, I respected your opinions and it was always interesting to hear what you thought about my song choices.
What do you think of Nicki Minaj?
She's cool! I got into her through ATRL actually, I was a bit skeptical cause I'm not into hip hop that much but I enjoy listening to her. It's fun.
Medosuxx asks:
Dear Anna,
Ich schleiban austa be clair
Es kumpent uster monsteir
Aus-be-auschke be flaugen
Fraulein uske be clair
I love you too, Medo! Team Lana forever
---
I'd like to thank the judges & jury for sending in all these questions, I never thought I'd get so many! I had fun answering them, and I hope you enjoy reading my answers, too.
I'm stoked to be here in the final and I can't wait to see who y'all choose to win.
May the force be with you
