I am creating this thread based off of the "yolo drunk car crash" forum posted not long ago. Many people lamented for the passengers, assuring it was not their fault in the least, while the driver was extremely castigated, even being compared to a murderer. Are the passengers immune to the guilt? They could've stopped the driver from putting in the key, they could've taken the bus home, found someone sober to drive. RIP to all of them, but to what extent can someone be guilty or not guilty? Is guilt by association void?
is this a question which can really be answered lol surely it's different for each individual situation
with regards to the YOLO drunk drivers i don't believe the passengers are guilt-free like some people do. they were just as responsible for their own deaths as the driver was.
Were the passengers drunk too? If that's the case then the driver was just extremely unlucky, cause they could have been ****ed either way. And if the passengers were sober, then they should have had the sense to drive.
So no, it's not the drivers fault. Damn, people are just so simple minded.
It depends on whether the passengers were drunk or not, which we evidently don't know. It was the driver's fault for his own death, that's a given. He was: 1) Drinking while driving, 2) On his phone while driving, and 3) Driving 120mph. All 3 of those are illegal, and he should've known better. They're illegal for a reason.
If the passengers were drunk, they might deserve a little slack, but if they weren't, they were consciously accepting the consequences the minute they got in the car. They should've been smart enough either way not to get in the car. People have designated drivers all the time, shouldn't they have been able to realize that the driver was in no condition to drive, whether they were drunk or not?
I don't know what these 'yolo drunk drivers' you're referring to are but I've been a few too many situations with drunk drivers. All I'm gonna say is they are scary as **** and intimidating as **** and at times there really isn't anything you can do.
