Exactly, Idk why but Rihanna is a very INCONSISTENT singer. She sings her best when "America" in particular aren't aware, hint: X Factor UK, France w/ Coldplay, V Fest, Hackney, and etc....
but when she gets on american TV she usually displays awful, so-so, or just good vocals. She never really wows anyone here. Her voice sounds more mature do to the smoking...look at Whitney's voice, It got darker and darker, due to smoking. Yes Ri, isn't on crack, but smoking can affect your singing voice. Rihanna has a nice tone, not sure why she's smoking
But yes, she's improved HEAVILY vocally, look at the 2006 pre show of her song Pon De Replay and look at her now. WOW
I hope she gets serious about her singing now.....I hope.
She always gives it her all in Europe performances or on tour...when it comes to TV programes in America she dont give two sh**s
