This is soooo funny to me that any of you think you have any capacity whatsoever to judge her.
You say she's manufactured and a fraud and a fake, yet your justifications are weak and childish at best.
If you have time to rip her to shreds, surely you have time to do a bit of research and educate yourselves first.
The whole album is an anthem to her fans and to the pop industry itself.
You call it "copying" when you should really be using the term "revival."
Look at pop music now, artists like "Ke$ha," "Rihanna," "Katy Perry," "Britney Spears," etc. singing a
bout getting drunk at parties, getting tied up by whips and chains and having threesomes.
I fail to see the problem with Gaga BLATANTLY STATING that she uses inspiration from her own childhood
(i.e. Madonna, Bruce Springsteen, Liza Minelli, David Bowie, Queen) to make a beautiful album about being free
(Born This Way), being your own empowerment (Scheie), and celebrating life to the end of your days (Edge of Glory). We all know that originality is dead, but the fact that Gaga was able to take these classic artists, incorporate her own message, and still make it appealing to the modern music industry tastes, is original. First it's too synthesized but then she is plagiarizing, make up your mind. It's simple because that's what people enjoy, also because it's POP MUSIC. Oh yeah, for those of you who say "she's lost her way since The Fame," if you knew anything about her, you would know that "The Fame" was a mockery of modern celebrities and musicians. She was mocking fame and how it consumes people. "Born This Way" was risky because it was her going all out. And quite frankly nothing but respect can be given to her for it. Maybe you think she's a terrible person because she knows how to sell herself, but even if she's lying, I would rather my six year old sister be singing "Baby, I was born this way" than "chains and whips excite me."
And here's a little message from Gaga...
I know how protective and loving you all are, especially after the last year. I respect and love you for looking out for me. I don’t think I’ve ever made a personal request from you before but here goes… Try to release the negativity of last year and open your hearts and minds to a more free-thinking, and happy year. ARTPOP is about POSSIBILITIES. Try not to stress or put energy into a fear that I will be attacked again. I will always be a warrior for you, and expect to be in a line of fire for the next 30 years. (I always expected/wanted to be this kind of polarizing figure) but, I want you to ENJOY THIS EXPERIENCE, don’t allow fear of the media to propel you into a frenzy and steal your joy of whats to come.
Please trust me. I’ve grown a lot this year. Lets grow together. I won’t let you down. love you cookie monsters, LG
