I Wish I Was A Punk Rocker was actually released at first in October 2005, but took until June 2006 to reach the top spot.
Robin Hawkins of relevant band The Automatic claims the following:
"If she was a punk rocker with flowers in her hair she'd get the **** kicked out of her by other punk rockers, for having flowers in her hair. I haven't found anyone who's told me they like that song and bought it."
The single version of Gettin' Over You is actually a remix of the album version found on One Love, which features Chris Willis only. Originally, Will.I.Am was intended for LMFAO's parts. In an interview with MTV News, RedFoo claims the song is about "You're in love with a girl and then you guys separate". Lyrics include "I'ma party, and party, and party, and pa-and-pa-and party".
Jinzo's verdict: 3.5 It's a straight up ratchet jiggle your ass jam. Can't give it a 0, save for Fergie's unnecessary horse yelping.
IWIWAPR Isn't THAT bad. I gave it too high of a score, but it's a DECENT song.
No, it's not. The sheer stupidity of the lyrics is beyond any redeeming qualities it might otherwise possess. It's actually an offensively bad song—insulting to the legacies of both the Summer of Love and punk music.
