VMAs moved up an hour to make room for President Obama
There was some minor controversy over MTV's decision to air the VMAs at the same time President Barack Obama is set to give a speech on the closing night of the Democratic National Convention.
Today, however, MTV has announced they will move up the show an hour earlier, so it will air from 8-10 EST, as the President is scheduled to speak after 10 PM on the east coast.
Tweens aren't the only demographic watching the VMA's. The 18-24 (and older) demographic will surely be more interested in watching the convention, especially since it'll be the first time voting for many.
It is od that they aired it on a Thursday this year.IIRC,Every year since at least 2007,the VMA's were held on a Sunday. As a matter of fact the Grammys are also held on Sundays tbh.
