Obama, although both candidates are terrible. I don't know, but i always clung on to the hope that Clinton would resign from the Obama administration and pull a 'Pat Buchanan' and run against Obama for the democratic vote Ridiculous, right? But Obama has made many mistakes during his term. At least he's better than Mitt Romney and his VP ticket pick. Paul Ryan is one of the most hypocritical VP candidates ever. I'm looking forward to a 2008 repeat.
I'm not going to say I want/don't want Obama to be the democratic nominee this year, but I'd rather have him make small improvements all-around then Romney completely HALTING all social progress just for him to focus on what he wants to focus on. I very much hope Obama wins this year, and I hope Hillary Clinton runs in 2016.
One thing that really astonishes me is the mediocre nature of the GOP candidates. I mean, the Republican Party has really made a mockery of Conservatism in my opinion. I'm surprised to even see them lean so far right on many issues, but then still have the support of a considerable amount of the population, many of whom in some cases are suppressed by the GOP's policies. It does surprise me that for a developed-western nation, one of the USA's parties are still advocating, and showing support against things that are considered BASIC social rights today.
Another thing that particularly irritates me about the GOP is them screaming "smaller government1!!!!!1!" on things like Obamacare, but are happy to have the government have say, and propose laws to remove the ability to people to make decisions in the PERSONAL lives (eg Abortion, Same-sex Marriage, etc).
But the thing that irritates me most of all is the general lack of credibility with the government and the citizens. I mean, of course I don't expect everyone to follow politics closely, or have a particular interest in it. However, i still find the stance that many Americans take with politics to be too relaxed.
