Actually, she could lose some fans by RELEASING something crap like Girlfriend, because its nothing great compare to her early projects.
I know I love Girlfriend too, but its kinda letdown on her quality in music.

I dont think she is trying to get more fans. SHe is making music for herself and her fans.

I think Girlfriend was a great idea. It was something different besides her usual stuff. It's more upbeat and it's taking a risk. Her fans never expected her to do this type of music; pop. I like Avril a lot more now because of this.

I think Avril is in the good way because she has a lot of fans in Latin America speccially Mexico and she wants to sing her latin fans but Girlfriend!? well it's ok is her first single.
