Let's talk about worthwhile things like her attending the vmas, the new will.I.am song, xfactor...only Britney stans would go months without real information/news and wait until the month where its about to get real to talk about this...smh.

The argument is always worthwhile because she's always be "the lip-syncer" in every tour until she stops, so it's an open discussion any day IMO.
But as you wish... she won't attend the VMAs. The will.i.am song will be delayed with the album that's been delayed 16 times already, we have 4 months to talk about X Factor, very exciting. K?

A little reminder to the Army, next year is the 30th anniversary of the VMAs, that means, 30 years overall, and the 10-year anniversary since The Kiss.
I don't want Britney to attend this year, she HAS to attend next year and SHOCK people. It would be PERFECT. She'd get a standing ovation ala Madonna in 2003 and she'd steal the show. God let this happen. It would be the perfect timing for her VMA stage comeback.
|
Hm, it's wishful thinking. But I don't think Britney will do the VMAs again.

Well Madonna last performed in 1998 before the Kiss in 2003 and hasn't since. I think it comes a time you stop these kind of shows.

"Hold It Against Me"
"Up 'N Down"
"How I Roll"
"Boys"
"...Baby One More Time / S&M"
"Trouble for Me"
"I'm a Slave 4 U"
"Till The World Ends"
For me, at least.

I have to agree with Rico... I don't see Britney EVER performing at the VMAs again.
At this point I'm just happy I was able to, as a stan, watch the VMAs 2000, 2001 and 2003 live.

True, it's highly unlikely it will happen. But she can't leave the VMAs stage with that bittersweet feeling that her last performance, like it or not, was a mess. I just feel like she has to do one last performance to leave the VMA stage with her head held high. I don't want people to remember Britney's last VMA performance as her worst.

For the performance itself, I'd say HIAM.
On what concerns the whole set, Gimme More and - tragically - Boys.

She doesn't care, though. She made it pretty clear on For The Record when she says "you have good performances, then you have not so good performance", like she had made peace with it.

I honestly think the sweep in 2008 and then the tribute in 2011 are good enough moments for her. And even though the last was her worst, it's safe to say the ones before it are just as remembered.

It's so good and I love the mix. She'll continue to find ways to bring it from the graves of bubbling under.

She certainly will, she's such a wh*re.
I wonder when she's gonna do "Boys (My Babies Remix)" though.
As for the sweep in 2008 and the tribute last year, yes, they are good moments, but we all know every time Britney appears there people are gonna wonder if she will ever perform at least close to her glory days... And that would only stop if she performed again.
You mentioned Madonna, and yes, there comes a day when you just stop doing these awards, but Madonna left in the highest note possible, I think we all agree on that.

Your second paragraph has been more interesting and worthwhile then the last 3 pages rehashing an old argument.
K?
Your take on the twister commercial coming out 9/9.
Her two magazine covers...you know something related to her career now.

I hope she doesn't stop. I mean the reason some icons/legenda "flop" is because they feel the need to stop performing or promoting.
I still think Britney still had atleast 1 good vma performance to give us.
She still has it in her. Some of her tour performances have been epic. Get naked, piece of me, radar, HIR...well most of the circus tour.
She can do it.

If she performs again at the VMAs I think it would have to be in a very special occasion but not in a random year to promote a single.
