According to reports, Psy has been invited to the upcoming MTV Video Music Awards (VMA) set to take place on September 6 (local time) at LA’s Staples Center.
Though not nominated for an award, he was given a special invitation for his immensely popular Gangnam Style music video. This is only the second time a Korean artist has attended the VMAs after Rain was specially invited in 2005.
Psy will leave from Korea on September 6 and following his attendance at the VMAs, will stay in America for approximately two weeks.
During this time, according to a representative for Psy, “Psy plans to meet with related insiders to begin his entry into the American music market.”
No other details were given but the representative stressed that they expected Psy’s plans would become clear after this upcoming trip.
Gangnam Style’s music video continues to garner views on YouTube and is fast approaching the 100 million view mark.
