It's not about affordability it's about time constraints. She's already explained that she takes the train from time to time in London because she's usually in a rush and it's the fastest means of transportation. Like Deemy said, she probably didn't expect it to be that crazy in France because she's never had any problem using the London transit. Mistake on her part but she didn't do it for the 'crazy attention'
