Any self-respecting M stan with half a lick of sense would understand the point you are trying to make. Her career can be divided precisely by the Sex book. That marked the end of her heyday, and the end to the fallacy that she was a virtuoso when it came to the boundaries of pop culture, music, and good taste. Of course she's too proud to ever cop to the misstep she made with that book. She's lucky she's had significant second and third winds in her career that kept her relevant, but they never restored her to her former glory.

Wow you are dedicated
Her career before Sex reached the normal peak of popstar career's, Sex the only thing that marked was the start of a Madonna that cared more for substance, to do things she wanted/believed in, instead of caring for commercial success. Madonna hasn't had 'second' or 'third' winds as she has always been the 'Queen of Pop' and still no one comes close to matching her influence.

The Erotica era is my favorite era. She was so fearless. And to be able to manipulate the media and totally re-create her image with Ray Of Light a mere 6 years later? It's astounding. No other performer pulled that kinda stuff off.
Monroe are you the same Monroe from Pulse?
