No, some male artists had some success but for a period of time and then they kinda disappeared or their music wasn't good enough to help them achieve that.

But Britney is definitely the princess of pop. This thread isn't about whether she being a legend or not and is asking who the prince of pop is. I see no problem of her being in the pic.

he has a lot of albums but is it true that his sales aren't big enough and his biggest album was Purple Rain which sold more than 20M WW, I guess it's because of his image, people didn't accept it.
