On online chat, how do you start or what word do you greet the conversation?

Whenever I don't like someone that chats me I don't say anything until he/she logs out then I go offline in chat when he/she goes offline and when he/she asks me the next day why I didn't reply I say my internet connections f*cked up

Hey - Since its quite friendly and relaxing and not too formal or anything.

If I'm talking to someone new, it's usually "hey "

If it's one of my best friends it's usually "hey lovely, how has your day been? xx"

If it's one of my family members it's just ""

I'm not even joking all my convos go like "hi... r u hot." then whenever they answer i say "do you like christina aguilera and madonna??" and if they answer no, i stop the convo right there.
