I read this somewhere, sounds interesting, idk if it's true but, is kinda promo?
Greetings from The Pixel Project - a global 501(c)3 nonprofit working to stop violence against women using social media and other internet and new technology strategies!
We are writing to invite Kelly Clarkson fans to participate in our Fall 2012 YouTube Cover Carnival contest (
http://is.gd/YouTubeCoverCarnival). We decided to ask contestants to cover Ms Clarkson’s “Dark Side” because of its empowering lyrics that will lift the spirits of women and girls who have survived violence.
The YouTube Cover Carnival is part of The Pixel Project’s “Music for Pixels” campaign (
http://bit.ly/Music4Pixels ) which aims to get YouTube musicians and music fans to join forces to say NO to Violence Against Women. By taking part in the YouTube Cover Carnival, musicians will help inspire the global audience to take action to stop the violence that affects 1 in 3 women and girls.
The Grand Prize Winner stands to win a Prize Package (worth approx. US$1400++) including:
• 1 original song produced, mixed, mastered by Lost Monkey Studio and placed in their licensing catalogue for potential TV/Film placement. • Free digital distribution by Horus Music for the winner’s song produced by Lost Monkey for 3 years. • The winner’s YouTube cover of “Dark Side” also will spend 3 full days as the featured music video on YouTube’s #1 R&B group AHMIR’s YouTube channel homepage which has almost 350,000 subscribers.
The closing date for submissions is 9PM EST 31 August 2012 and we hope you could give the YouTube Cover Carnival a shout-out on your FB page as soon as you can so that any of your page’s fans who are musically talented will have enough time to record and submit their cover of “Dark Side”.
Thanks so much!
With best regards, Victoria Oguntope Music Campaigns Team – Outreach On behalf of The Pixel Project
