Microsoft Surface street art invades New York
Source
Quote:
Various pieces of street art have begun, er, surfacing across the Big Apple, depicting the soon-to-be-released Microsoft Surface tablet.
Pictures are coming in from across the city (particularly Brooklyn, it seems) of what appears to be rather professional graffiti-style Microsoft Surface promotion.
The Verge has a whole host of Microsoft Surface street art pictures for your perusal, including a handful of snapshots taken by readers.
Microsoft says it’s “not commenting”, though this wouldn’t be the first time they’ve hit the streets for some ground level promotion.
Indeed, The Vergeheads remind us that Microsoft was fined $50 (ouch) a few years back for slapping MSN butterflies across various fixtures – including sidewalks (or “pavements”, if you prefer), traffic signals, and stop signs.
The slightly strange thing here is that the Microsoft Surface isn’t due for release until October 26, as a Windows 8 launch device. That’s two months away.
It’ll be the ARM-based Microsoft Surface RT landing first, followed a few months later by the Intel-fuelled Microsoft Surface Pro.
Oddly, Microsoft recently conceded in an official document that the Surface might serve to irk other Windows 8 tablet OEMs, but clearly Team Ballmer has no intention of holding back.
