It doesn't matter, I was proved this by a band called Animal Collective. They sorta repeat the same lines over and over, and they are critically acclaimed for their music. It's not the lyrics it's the soundscape.
In fairness I think lyrics are important a lot of the time. Mostly with rap, because you aren't showcasing your singing abilities at all, it's all about the words you say.
Why do some people insist on acting like a song can be amazing even if the lyrics are bad? Some people listen to music for the lyrics...
