Because the remake of a classic story with a sassy 11-year old black girl who thinks she's the 'it' girl is bound to be terrible. Not mention that when people think of 'Annie' they think of this little charmer;

Is it going to feature full versions of any of the original songs, or will it be all new songs/reworks? Will it have an all-black cast?

Goku's Asian but they had no problem letting a white actor play him in the live action Dragonball movie.

Really looking forward to this. She will revolutionize the whole musical genre as the first commercial black Annie on the big screen.

I always loved Willow Smith since Whip My Hair and I Am Legend. I have a feeling she's going to have a bright future ahead of her.

Goku is Saiyan, an alien race. He was never technically Asian.

That being said, there was a sizable uproar when a white guy was cast.

Ok, but he's not white and he has Asian features.

I know that as well because I follow DBZ closely. This type of thing happens with most films in America that are based on Asian media.

Why is everything a remake now? Can't Hollywood come up with any new ideas?

There are fresh scripts out there. Most studios just don't want to take a chance and lose money.
