Not true unfortunately - Born In The USA spent 84 consecutive weeks in the top 10 from debut.

Again that's not true about TSOM. I assume you're thinking about Billboard's mono and stereo charts but those ended in the early 60s so all of TSOM's weeks were on the single chart, BB200.
However, I agree with you in a way - soundtracks don't count for comparison purposes as they're not associated with any particular artist - so I will consider Adele the record holder if she passes The Boss (another 7 weeks - still in the balance as to whether this will happen as that's almost another 2 months, although I'm encouraged by the slight rise in her sales this week...)
