I think Taylor's sweet spot is in low and mid tempo songs. She has a fragile voice so anything with high BPM will overshadow her vocals..

The more that I think about it, songs like WANEGBT should be in the minority on the album. The known collaborators (Sheeran, Mark Foster) and rumored collaborators (McKenna, Dan Wilson) aren't the type to make commercial bubblegum pop songs.

I honestly think WANEGBT is the only song like this on the album. Maybe i'm just being too optimistic though

It's possible they were worried there wasn't enough "guaranteed hits" on the album so they included this as a surefire smash and released it first to build hype. Maybe I'm just being too optimistic though.
