Azealia is hyped because she's a talented MC, lyricist, and vocalist filling a lane/intersection that a certain crowd of musical listeners have been craving.She brings swag rap, dance pop, alternative electro, a big pinch of Vogue culture and dashes of R&B together in a way that reads as uniquely her. She has an undeniable cool factor, her rap sheet of producers and potential collabs is already slamming, and she is also one of the first major ADULT acts born in the 90s. She grew up with the internet hype machine and knows how to play it.
I just wish Azealia and stans and Nicki stans could coexist. I feel like... A lot of Azealia stans (maybe just annoying bandwagoners, I don't pay attention) are music snobs who take any chance they can get to prove that Nicki's music sucks and Azealia's is amazing. And then they freak out when Barbs come at them, well duh we gonna if you act like a bitch.
I just really wish this stanwar would blow over now. But I dont think that'll happen until Nicki's hate bandwagon is over. Pop fans are so fickle. I went through a bunch of older pre Pink Friday threads and members that drag her now were stanning down and saying she was the most interesting thing in hip hop etc. I hate that now people will shade her over dumb things.
