VVV would've been the perfect first single.

omg if her stans can't determine what kind of music they want to hear from her what's a girl o do!!!??? people don't want BITT or IDS, but some don't want SH or SB SMH. i don't want ANYTHING SHE'S ALREADY DONE. i want fresh new Nicki. f@ck sounding like a past mix tape. Nicki can do better than that. ya'll want her to play it safe, i want her to innovate. new sounds new beats new flows. no personas just Nicki smashing faces into the pavement.

Such as? Because I'm pretty sure the only difference in the final version was the guitar added in the bridge.

I just hate how none of her rap song have cross over appael not just in the US but overseas. I look at song like ****** in Paris and think Nicki could do that shot with easy. I just hate Nicki's biggest hits are her Pop songs. I don't want her to be looked at as a female Flo Rida. Her singles rate maybe great but if she keeps going this direction her albums to singles rate will similar to Kesha's. I'm happy for Nicki's success and want it to continue. I just want her to live up to her FULL potential as a female rapper. Not just give the public what they wan or holding **** back. Like she clearly did with PF:RR and this era. Nicki is better than that. I want people to recognize and respect her. Like they do the TOP global male MCs. (Eminem Jay-Z & Kanye to be exactly) Like I said earlier all Nicki needs is a sick ass beat with a clever, catchy lyrics and she's set. Nicki deserve both critically acclaimed and Commerical success because she's that good. I dont want her to feel like she has to give up one side for the other. Even though she's showing no signs of that. Besides not releasing her hip-hop singles global. Which I consider sad because they're amazing. I wanna see Nicki winning Grammys, having her albums in hall of fame and younger artist inspiring to be like her but at the same time have great music for everyone to enjoy. I wanna see Nicki live up to Kanye words. Let's just pray that PF:RR was a learning experience on what she needs to do.

I don't even care to criticize or state my opinions for what I want her to do anymore, because it obviously never happens. She does what she wants and when she does what she wants, usually its nothing like what we wanted and we can't do anything but deal.

They have over 200 million YouTube views between them (including their music videos). And they have successfully made Nicki Minaj into a global superstar that has multiple endorsement deals, merchandising opportunities and a sold-out international arena tour (remember - Nicki doesn't release hip-hop singles outside the US, so her international success is solely from her pop and R&B music). YMCMB are making money from all of these activities, as they are both her co-managers and label.
So I beg all of you to stop making her recent pop music success into some sort of nonsensical issue. Honestly, Cash Money Records and Universal Republic don't care about reviews or the hip-hop community disowning her. Cash Money Records is now UMG's flagship dance-pop label. They really don't mind this "issue", if you can even call it that.
If you guys honestly don't understand how or why this current era is considerably more successful than the "Pink Friday" era, regardless of Nicki selling fewer albums in the US, then trying to have any sort of discussion with you guys is a lost cause.

So basically, it's Money > Quality? Right....sorry, but im not into that. If you have to downgrade the product of your own music just to make some money and get noticed, then that's the issue.
It's the same argument from you Everytime. Tours, endorsements, single sales...it's all about the money with you.
Her work has currently decreased. That's the point. But I'm not going to bother getting into this debate with you, cause it seems whenever I do, I'm either "delusional" or "a fool" or whatever ever slick **** most of the people on here refer to me by.
But whatever really...

Your post is very articulate and communicates a valid point across well! My points:
1. Hip-hop music is generally only accepted by mainstream culture in moderation. There are very few truly hip-hop songs that crossover, and even the one you mentioned - N***** in Paris - wasn't a massive success compared to the rest of the Top 20. It did well for a hip-hop song, with crossover appeal especially with dance music fans, but it's a whimper compared to something like Whistle, speaking of which...
2. Nicki is always going to be seen as the female Flo Rida, albeit smarter and with more authorship over her sound and image. This has always been the case, since she started, and honestly, it is not a bad thing. ATRL demonises Flo Rida, but he is the most popular male dance-pop artist in the world right now, and should be respected for that like how Rihanna is. Nicki is perceived as a sort of "Flo Rida + Lady Gaga"-type. That's pretty cool to me.
3. Nicki isn't just a rapper anymore. She is now an accomplished singer. Believe it or not, there are many, many people who like her singing and sing-rapping, but detest her "hardcore" rapping.
I understand you feeling frustrated by it. If I was passionate about her "flows" and full-on rapping, it would feel like Nicki has somewhat abandoned all that (or relegated it to features and urban-only singles) to focus on her more appealing pop-rap style, but it's just something that needs to be accepted by her older fanbase in my opinion.

I hate that people on here still think they can get away with saying that she is a pop artist and that she isn't a rapper anymore and ****
Like it's seriously so old that if this was real life I would punch them in their face.

i really wanted Nic to stay away from twitter but at the same time i missed her when it happened because i just hate that the twitter Barbs over praise her and think everything she does is great when it isn't i really wish she would lurk here and see us we preach the truth and don't hold back

Nicki is not the female flo rida and definitely hasn't "always been from the start".
Offhanded, STUPID ass comments like that are why I can't respect or take anything Division says seriously.

Flo Rida is TRASH, and will always remain TRASH. He isn't Hip-Hop.
But I do like Division's last post.
