I think what Nicki needs is sicker beats and samples like on some Kanye, Jay-Z or even Drake level ****. That's one thing that kinda lacks on PF:RR. If she really wants to come hard she needs to get Hit Boy, Swizz Beats and T-Minus. Hell even 40 even though his beats are starting to sound the same. I find the production on PF way more interesting than then some fo the songs on PF:RR. Espically on Popside even though i live for the pop side.
Most of her straight hip hop songs lack substance & most of them time it's just her bragging & she gets dragged by the GP for that.
I'd rather her make more RTM, Your Love, Right Thru Me, Moment 4 life type of songs that have a meaning & that cross over to pop, so bye with that straight hip hop stuff some of you are talking about.
It'll be exactly the same as PF:RR, but marketed better.
Btw that's actually why Sweat was pulled as a single for Ciara - they're emulating PF:RR but improving on the marketing of it, including distancing Ciara away from ghetto associations.
My only issue with this is.....why did it have to be something as important as the Sophmore? She could've done this later on. That was my main issue....
I think to show that she CAN do that. Think about it, PFRR in comparison to PF wasn't as successful. But it DID NOT flop. Which means people still bought the album, still jammed to Stupid Hoe and carried the era out. She then was selling out arenas during her tour. she managed to have fun and still slay.

!!!!!
I don't care WHAT she spits. But she NEEDS samples and those EPIC sounding beats that Kanye and all of them experiment with.
Before I begin this, I'll say that I can say WHAT I want, as I've MET her and BEEN to her concertS.
Let's have STORY TIME BARBZ!
What matters more, YouTube views and dislikes, album sales, singles sales, or the critical acclaim Nicki receives?
The same critics that bashed the Dance tracks (not Va Va Voom of course), and praised the Rap tracks.
So what DOES matter more? I mean the Flo Rida stan has A LOT to say you know.
YouTube views are important, likes and dislikes aren't. Point- Justin Bieber's music video for "Baby" is one of the most disliked videos ever. It didn't effect the success of the song, though.
Album sales and single sales are important, but singles are more important these days, for obvious reasons.
Critical acclaim is great, and it helps shape the public's perception of Nicki.

I understand WHY she did it, I was just saying I would rather her do it later on, maybe the third album, instead of risking something as important as the Sophmore. That's my take, but I see what she was trying to do.

ALL of those things you mention MATTER.
Obviously, but pick one. I'm talking about the ALBUM, not the overall ERA.
Pink Friday, that had the ACCLAIM, and ALBUM SALES.
or,
PF:RR, that didn't have the ACCLAIM, nor album sales, but it had the SINGLE SALES.
Well, at the end of the day we wont know what Nicki is planning to do i just hope that she acknowledges that she needs to come harder and release more hip-hop songs for sure whether it be an EP or on her 3rd album. There's nothing wrong with doing more pop/dance tracks but if she does more they need to be way better and unique.
