As expected, Village Voice hated the song. And wrote her off as a sell-out.

This is what the song basically did :

1) Everyone was surprised .
2) Most fans liked it .
3) Fans that were hoping for her to keep going in the right direction were disappointed .
4) People who were looking forward to her stuff after ' S&S ' were turned off .
5) Non-fans ( Pop fans ) are loving it and now looking forward to Red .
6) The Country audience is offended , so are her older fans .
7) It made Taylor receive MASSIVE success WW , with the song topping iTunes in 25 countries so far.
8) It's breaking records for Taylor .
9) It's most likely going to be Taylor's first #1 song in the US and in a couple of Countries hopefully .
10) It's making Taylor look like she's going backwards with her music .

i m assuming here that WANEGBT is her most and probably only total pop song in the album! so when she has gained back her hype, her top status in the industry with this song, she'll get back to her last kiss, long live epicness, giving us epic ballads and awesome country tunes!
an album called RED , with the reasoning behind the title being so deep and meaningful, we can only assume that the songs are going to be lyrically amazing, and really personal and thoughtful!

going by her past releases, her secong single will be a ballad(TOMG, WH, BTD) and the third one will be a strong country song(OS, YBWM .. country pop, mean) ... by the time these two singles are done, she'll regain her country and adult fans .. ! she might release another pop single, but i dont think this one song will completely change people's opinions about her! the damages done by this song are easily reversible, and not only will her fanbase grow but her existing fanbase will stick with her too!

ofc if the album is filled with songs like WANEGBT, theres no coming back !! but i know taylor as much to know that the album is going to be the best one yet ad she'll not become a sellout pop gurl !!

Well I think Taylor will never ever collaborate with these country singers because they were not here for her when she debuted, they were just forced to admit that she was getting bigger and bigger by herself. They bashed her at every occasion. I think Taylor was always closer to pop stars than country stars. About her new direction, the Adele road ain t that easy, it has no country root and it would be ridiculous to be Adele's copycat right after 21's success right ?! you need to pave your own way and that s Taylor is doing actually.

However I understand why some fans are dissapointed but lets just wait & see, Taylor is a smart girl and she s very ambitious...Honestly I m glad that she came from nowhere and tops random charts such as Norway or Brazil

Any country collab would be wonderful, except Aldean & Toby Keith. Also, I would never expect a Carrie or Miranda collab because deep down I know they don't like her

I think it's selling so well partly because her fans would buy it whether they liked it or not, plus all the pop fans are loving it.
