Sales do not make an artist iconic, if that was the case Pink still wouldn't be iconic anyways. There's a reason X's sold more albums than Pink, had more #1 singles than her, won more awards (primarily Grammy awards), actually got a #1 album, etc, etc, etc which tells ya'll that X's more successful, and consistent.
