Cat Power, aka Chan Marshall, is gearing up the release of her new studio album Sun the week of 3 September 2012, and here's a remix of the second single off the album, "Cherokee". Rising star in the electronica scene, Nicolas Jaar creates an ethereal soundscape which adds many new dimensions to an already fantastic song.

So glad to see a thread for this! His remix is so heartbreaking and trumps the original, and is yet more proof as to why I think 2012 is shaping up to be the best year in music...

The original is fantastic, but yes, this remix trumps the original. You should check out Nicolas Jaar's original work, it's incredible stuff.

His Space Is Only Noise album (released last year) is a quality listen, although one that could be more of a challenge listening to all the way through, but something that is definitely an album.

the album is pretty good! I enjoyed it a lot more than her previous "The Greatest"
