So she's allowed to market a single and movie off of hidden insight into their divorce and relationship, but he can't talk about it?

Nothing says "dignified silence" like releasing a single that heavily suggests it's about Russell and then performing it numerous times, and then having it reach #1 on the Hot 100.

That is true, but it is apparent that key lyrics were changed and that the song was strategically released to bank off of their divorce.

Since when is "you can keep the diamong ring, it don't mean nothing anyway" blasting someone? Russell indiscreetly opening up about personal stuff like their sex life on radio shows is much more "not done". Katy doesn't open up about their personal life when they were still together in her movie and PoM.

The movie isn't even entirely about their relationship. The break-up was part of a very emotional 2011, in both a good and sad meaning, so naturally they included it since their break-up was a late, but big, addition to a year in a which a lot of things happened for her. But she's not talking about their ****ing sex life in the movie. BIG difference.

At the same time, she didn't use his name nor did she mention something private and personal. She said a line about the ring. I do think Katy is in the right here, since she's been pretty good about it.

But Katy is donating her PoM proceeds to charity, so she clearly isn't banking from that.

to be honest russell is being a dick about it, but katy releasing thinly-veiled songs about the relationship/break-up isn't exactly any better either so
