One of the songs she's featured on, and she's only released 2 songs before the album. That's pretty normal. Born This Way and Judas were both released before the album (+ 2 promo singles). We Found Love and You Da One were both released before the album. California Gurls and Teenage Dream were both released before the album. Hold It Against Me and Till the World Ends were both released before the album. Run the World and Best Thing I Never Had were both released before the album.
Rita is the only one out of all those who got both her pre-album singles to #1.
Some people like Calvin Harris and Tinie Tempah released 4 single before the album.
If pop radio in the US played his songs he'd go top 10 there aswell.
