I know i said this already before, but more than the number one, I'm more concerned with the sales. I'll be contented already if the lead single will sell 3.5M in the long run. 4M and I'll feel like celebrating and partying then!!
How much do you guys think she'll sell in the first week?
I thinks she'll need at least 400-450K for the No. 1, since both Ellie and Carly are going strong in terms of both sales and radio adds.
Without much radio support, Taylor will need strong sales as well as good streaming.
It depends on the song and fans. I see it doing anywhere from high 200k to 400k plus. I think we will get good airplay because BMR seems to have laid the groundwork for that. The only issue will be streaming but we will see what happens and how much they want that no 1. I would prefer longevity and a build up to no 1 but this is a good opportunity for Taylor to get it if things have been planned well. I am thinking we get top 10 debut and from there we see if the song has legs.

I think because of her name the single won't do less than 200K. I hope it can make 400K but that seems improbable. Hopefully radio treats her well and spins her more. It's really up to the stations to spin it and not Big Machine, but hopefully it gets the support in deserves. And i agree, streaming is the biggest problem. I hope it gets on spotify the same day as it does on iTunes. I hope the songs has longevity but it would be good if she starts strong as well. BMR better have some promo lined up. I think ELLEN is a lock because of their friendship.

i always think about this too! its not like her digital pull weekened over the coure of SN era, Mine, bonus tracks, S&S were released in three different phases of the era and all did perfect digitally! and now even mumford and suns and jason aldean with no promo or hype at all are able to pull in 200K in first week ... so i think taylor shouldnt do less than 300K AT ALL!
I need something that sounds something along the lines of 'Nobodys Home'.. although by 'early-avril' they probably mean 'Sk8er Boy' or 'Let Go'-esque.
i still dont get how he categorised taylor's new single like early avril! early avril like skater boy, losing grip avril or complicated, i'm with you avril? like slow pop or rock?
i think he was hinting at IWY or complicated coz early avril always strikes those two names in mind!
