This just makes me laugh. I'm not "programmed" and I can do what I please, when I please. I could stop listening to pop music forever if I wanted and no "programming" conspiracy will change that.

Monarch Programming is a form of mind control which creates a mind control slave by utilizing the human brain's trauma response of dissociation to create a form of Multiple Personality Disorder (MPD) wherein various triggers can cause the slave personality to surface and respond to commands given by the master.

Either through brainwashing little girls with Disney movies about princesses who have an evil step mother or that are trapped in some way and need a prince for salvation. Delusions and fantasies are filled into the young via these types of cartoons, children's shows, and even video games. There are subliminal messages within the media that influence the young girls to be sweet as a princess would; however, they also expect to be treated like a princess and when this does not necessarily happen, their bad side comes to the surface. Through tantrums and rebelious behavior these 'princesses' grow up viewing the world as an evil enchanted place with wicked tricks and darkness that they must dodge. They are looking for the savior, the prince, the master to take her away and own her, Later, she learns about sexuality, periods, puberty, and it all clicks. Her estrogen and progesteron levels are extreamly elevated due to the estrogenic compounds in their drinking water and she is ready to get her way in this dark world. She goes into fantasy land, her happy place, and her get away spot from her mother and father who divorced her mother, Full of anger and resentment towards her parents she is ready to give it all to her master for the fame, money, jewels, fashion etc.. the princess lifestyle she was promised. The media tells her that having multiple parters is accepatble and she decides to explore her sexuality with many, many, and many others. Drugs, inhalants, alcohol, and other mind altering substances prepare her to be a candidate for the ultimate sex kitten- the one that will become famous and set the example as a role model for the next generation. A typical candidate must have suffered a lot in her past and must know what suffering is so that when she has her fame she will not take it for granted; instead, she should be obedinet and want more and do anything for more. Represent the programmers. Soceity and nature finds a way to recylce these vixens as they are needed and as they die off new generations replace them. This has been the case since the egyptian civilization with their singers and entertainers and mummified women have been identified and connected with the sex kitten, beta, vixen role. Some people estimate that this has been the case way before the egyptians but no solid proof has been found. Most ancient material has been lost and destroyed through the extinction of civilization with nuclear-type explosions and damage either way. It is the way they control human beings through using the emotions, urges, and wants to manuver and control society.

How do we know this is real?

We don't, that's why it's called a conspiracy theory. Plus, it's "theorized" to affect more than just the girls used in the last example. Naturally, people often claim I myself am brainwashed due to my firm belief that this is a load of horse crap, and begin to list things that obviously prove it's totally real.

My only argument against it right now, since I'm lazy, is that to recognize the existence of this project, it is false in the first place. Everyone grows up exposed to the same world - why would some be brainwashed to control society and not others? Why, if there was this program, would they not brainwash everyone and never let them find out? Why allow anyone to spread the word about this if it's real? Why is there crime if society is being controlled, or any sort of free will? It just seems so unrealistic to me. I've seen no scientific evidence that the brain can be manipulated and the brainwashing put into remission for use for later, or of brainwashing at all to be honest. The human mind is incredibly complex and I doubt that ages ago when monarch programming is alleged to have begun, they had the proper tools for this. Of course everyone is affected by the media, but I don't think there's any conspiracy behind it or that most people are affected as strongly as your post suggests.
