I didn't mean that they didn't have to be in monotone.
But like with your example, when she performed You and I and used her head voice at the Grammy nominations and not the official version. Not saying that You and I sounds very bad on the album , but whole was better because she used her head voice.
Oh (I don't really know vocal techniques )
But a changeup from her normal vocal would be good and refreshing, i'm sure radio would love it.
