something just doesn't seem right. you get excited about a song and just release it without a marketing plan, a slew of contradictions in press releases and obviously no meetings about who's doing what with this project like I believe she would want her music released however she wouldn't want it under these conditions
It's not right at all. I was, am and always will be an Aaliyah stan, but, I am also leery about posthumous releases. I think it really, really needs to be done right or not at all. I think the I Care 4 U compilation probably had the best quality material that didn't make an album when she was alive and was still of quality to properly represent Aaliyah as an artist. The fact that it's been ten years since that compilation and we've gotten nothing speaks volumes. Her family doesn't want it released, her musical colleagues and friends haven't touched it; it should be left alone. I would love new, GOOD Aaliyah music, but, I don't think it's right to steam roll her family and friends that lost their loved one tragically to get it.
