No one has ever accused Lady Gaga of being a wallflower. The stand-out pop star did not disappoint in her cover and inside photos for Vogue September 2012. She wore a mermaid gown in a fuchsia hue with exaggerated curves.

The bodice cinched in her narrow waist and highlighted her collarbone with off-the-shoulder sleeves. Beneath the waist, the gown puffed out in a super-curved look, cinching in again below the knee and fanning out again to floor-length.

In addition to the stunning dress on the magazine cover, Gaga wore an over-the-top hairstyle. Her platinum hair was styled with a big-barreled curl look that crowns her head just off the forehead. The critics love the approach they took w/ this cover

I don’t know what I was expecting when I heard Lady Gaga would be fronting Vogue’s all-important September issue (I’m sure I rolled my eyes), but it wasn’t this, and I have to say I’m kind of pleasantly surprised. Gaga looks like some sort of statuette and the cover overall is really bold and different. It’s a departure from what Vogue has been doing and I think it’s kind of exciting
