Gaga? Yes. Rihanna? No. Her albums = filler galore.

She's always had a major role in her music and the direction she takes, she's smart about it. Every single song she's always had a vision for it, every era she's taken a specific theme and ran with it. Every cover, every song, every video, sets, her tour, everything has been cohesive and though out. So don't even start with the whole "creative" thing, when anybody can show you a million receipts of her being creative in every process of her image and sound. Instead of just stealing all Madonnas old looks, shock tactics, and even an entire song like other pop stars in the business, Katy's always taken her own path.
And don't you be denying the fact that her label wouldn't want her going a 180 musically, after having one of the most successful eras in music history. You're so caught up with hating her, that you just blatantly ignore facts and downplay her all the time

 at this whole post.
Madonna is WAY more talented than Katy both lyrically and vocally, you know it. Katy would NEVER be able to do a Ray of Light and this is from someone who like her.

You bitches haven't learned to not underestimate Katy right? Just because TD was generic and had some dumb lyrics doesn't mean she's not capable, let's not.

Wide Awake is her "deepest song yet" and it didn't go #1, so what makes you think they'll let her made another "deep" song?
|
What are you talking about?
Wide Awake is a smash, it peaked at #1 on iTunes, #1 on Radio, #1 on Pop, it wasn't #1 on Hot 100 because of bad timing.

People could think the same about Madonna when she was releasing her second album

Who knows?
Maybe in the future Capitol will give Katy more lenience in terms of her musical sound. She's arguably their biggest seller right now so Capitol will keep Katy making radio-friendly pop songs that people of all ages can enjoy.

Katy is too soon on her career to say that. (But I kinda think you're right )
And her next album wont be 'dark', don't kid yourselves Of course, not bubblegum like TD but far from dark

Madonna was 40 and had a child when she made ROL. Katy just doesn't have enough age or life experience yet to pull something like that off well. The most I could see would be a couple of dark songs about her marriage/divorce.

Madonna's genius is so underrated on ATRL.

I agree with this part, especially since Katy is one of their biggest money makers. They aren't gonna let Katy do a BTW anytime soon.
But the other part is just The song is coming towards 2x platinum and will probably go 3x plat in the future. It out peaked every TD single released so far by quite a large margin on radio and the video was praised by a lot of people. Besides the Hot 100 it topped a lot of the relevant charts for a Katy Perry song. If that's their idea of a "dark" song then I'm pretty sure they'd let her make an album full of WA type songs if they could get that type of success.

Keep in mind that Ray of Light was Madonna's 7th studio album so I think Katy has a long way to go.

Katy Perry's never going to have a 'Ray of Light' album because she's Katy Perry.

I don't really know if Katy has the capacity to deliver a record as substantial as ROL so early in her career .

Should I be taking this post seriously?
The bottom line is that Katy does not have the musical, vocal, and mental capacity to pull of a Ray of Light, no matter how much you'd like to think otherwise. Sorry to burst your bubble.
