In the most recent uncovering from the Apple vs. Samsung trial, Apple has unearthed an internal Samsung document that compares every single iOS feature to Android. Samsung then goes on to dissect every iOS feature and explain how it can be implemented into Android.

Upon first glance, it doesn't seem bad. You see a few tweaks here and there, nothing serious.

Unfortunately for Samsung, there are 200+ pages of tweaks "inspired" by Apple's iOS. This has quickly escalated from a form of visual flattery to full-out emulation. Samsung essentially used the iPhone as a guide to "fix" Android.

This document has been accepted and entered into evidence by the judge and will be used by Apple during the trial. The jury is most likely to respond strongly to this document.

Well, it's not so much Android stans. Android itself has typically distanced itself enough from iOS in terms of UI design. Samsung stans are the ones you should be addressing. The Samsung Galaxy S1 and S2 phones are the primary subjects in this case. The new S3 is less of a culprit, as Samsung's new UI and hardware designs are a little more original due to this lawsuit.

This is about Samsung's modifications to Android, not Google's design of Android.

This is why I hacked my S2 and run a stock ROM with a bunch of extra features and such. The developers go through all this fuss and leave us with a phone that's not even as good as stock OS.

Seriously though, this is so pathetic what happened to originality? They screencaped nearly every ****ing iPhone screen and came up with how to copy it. I feel bad for Apple because Samsung has been profiting like crazy when they took every small detail from iOS.

Samsung just put the last nail in their coffin, there's no getting out of this lawsuit Apple will probably be receiving a very nice settlement.

I MEAN

Samsung would not be in this mess if they left Android as it is. Unfortunately for Samsung, they need to find a way to differentiate their phones from the competition and create a unique customer experience. I think the Galaxy S3 is quite unique and does succeed at that front, but Samsung's earlier designs shamefully copied Apple's iOS.

This is why I don't use Samsung's UI.

Samsung is such a rip-off, the only good thing they make is the Galaxy SIII (beautiful phone). Their early Android phones, however, are literally worse than Blackberries.
