I think it goes beyond looking White.

For example, Iranians may not only look "white", they are White. The name Iran itself is equivalent to Aryan, where Iran means "Land of the Aryans". lol

Words like Caucasoid are outdated racial terms. People are finding that racially categorizing people is a lot more complicated than that. The definition you copied says it includes "some," but which ones? Some Central Asians and South Asians? So many Central Asians are mixed with Mongol blood and so many South Asians are mixed with Dravidian blood. So who's "white" and who's not? Moreover, "white" is an ambiguous term. Before paler Northern Europeans wouldn't even consider darker South Europeans to be "white." In Asia, people who are dark are "black" and people who are pale are "white." At the end of the day these are all socially constructed words and terms. There's way too much overlap to categorize people clearly.

And the "Aryan" thing is another topic, but the Vedas describe Aryans as wheatish brown colored so they weren't exactly the "white" most people think when they hear the word.

I think the attack was more motivated by religion. As said by others, the Sihks were probably mistaken for being Muslims.

Besides, most Sikhs are of Punjabi ethnicity and they're mixed with Dravidian blood to different degrees so technically they aren't.
