There's nothing "way too much" about a discount. Let them do their business, and allow fans/listeners to enjoy the benefits of cheaper prices. If tactics that have been done since the beginning of time drives you nuts, you need to reevaluate life.

I do not need to reevaluate life, all I meant was that I'm just pressed but not surprised that Capitol did it again with this single. I do like the song but Capitol tries so hard with Katy. I don't see artists on their roster getting that kind of support like Katy is. And I do admit that I wish the other labels would take note of this and start doing this for some other artists.

I'm not even pressed about this discount and nor should you be. If the discount were to have come 2 weeks ago, then I'd have been pressed. It's not even her downloads that kept her from the top spot, it was her streaming. Now that her radio airplay is going down along with her streaming, she's not gonna blow past "Whistle" that has a deadlock on the top spot.

I'm glad she discounted it tho. It won't get #1 so maybe she will stop doing it in the future since it didn't work this time.

Also, remember, these sales will be going towards NEXT weeks Hot 100, not this weeks. That gives "Whistle" even more confidence it will be passing "Wide Awake" on the Hot 100.
