Wow I haven't been on this message board in ages. But here is my review of the new album by Fall Out Boy "Infinity on High"


First off I have had this cd for over 3 weeks now thanks to the leak, and I have had it on repeat for quite some time.

PROS of the cd- It is extremly well recorded, thanks to the amazing producers they hired for this album. Mainly babyface, who is a genious in the studio. Patrick's voice sounds absolutly amazing on this record, mostly thanks to pro tools, but fall out boy is mainly a studio band rather than a live band. Most of the time when a band does something different with the sound, it hurts them. But fall out boy has gone above and beyond on this cd. It is recorded well, it flows together perfectly, and they surpassed their average "From Under The Cork Tree" release of 2005. The songs are very catchy and easy to sing along.


CONS- The lyrics are lacking in this cd compared to their past 3 releases. Its not lack of hard work, since this album took forever to put out, well over a year since their last release. The lack of "hits" on this cd will not hurt it , i do see many singles coming off this cd, but they all don't seem like the hits that came off the last album. Once again patrick struggles with pronunciation of the lyrics he is singing, but one quick look over the lyric sheet and a close listen you will figure out what is being sung.


Conclusion- Very solid album, despite the leak, it will sell over 2 million. If you don't like "This ain't a scene..." single, don't dismiss this album, the rest of the cd is incredible.

I hope your future singles list is wrong because those songs don't seem like hits to me. :-/

I think Thriller, The Take Over will definitely be the next singles after Carpal Tunnel of Love. They released 3 singles from the last album so I doubt they'll ***** this album either.

I was gonna post this in my blog. But after about 8-10 listens to the album, Take This To Your Grave is still my favorite, but this is clearly the best done album. The quality of everything is top notch. I am seriously impressed. This deserves to sell really well. My favorites include "Golden" "Hum Hallejuah" "Thnks fr the mmrs"

Wow, I really like this CD. Usually on a good CD i only dislike a few songs but on this CD i am in love with almost every song. Of course This Aint A Scene, because its on the radio all the time, but I also like (I am going to abbreviate but its that really really lond titled song) ILALWTWIATTGYO (My + You). I dont know, its just my favorite. Bang the Doldrums and The Take Over, the Breaks Over are also good. I would have to say the song i least like is The Carpal Tunnel of Love, which is weird because most people seem to like it, but its just my least favorite.

I'm really pleasantly surprised with this album. My favorite track is "Golden", I've been listening to this nonstop. I don't think it'll become a single though.

Yes, Take This To Your Grave is still their best release by far, it appeals more to the fans before the fame. And i agree, the new cd is very well done. If you review it based on how it is produced and recorded, its amazing. The lyrics are lacking like I said before.
