Lady Gaga Names Next Album 'ARTPOP'



Lady Gaga has announced the title of her upcoming album, taking to Twitter to confirm the news. "Make sure when writing about my new album/project ARTPOP that you CAPITALIZE the title, *its all in the details*," wrote the pop star.

Gaga gave no further details on the release of ARTPOP, expected to drop early next year, though she did post a photo of the title tattooed on her arm. In June, Gaga debuted the new track "Princess Die" live in Australia. She has also signed on to make her acting debut in Robert Rodriguez's upcoming film Machete Kills.

Despite being in the middle of her enormous worldwide tour, Gaga wants to adhere to her typical breakneck work pace, alluding to the title of her newest project via photos of a new tattoo she shared on Friday.

It wasn't quite your old-fashioned revelation, but based on her track record of grabbing new ink in relation to her newest musical inspiration, Little Monsters and casual observers of body art can both deduce that the letters in "ARTPOP" will likely have something to do with her next album. For the utterly dense, Gaga clarified what her photos meant on Sunday:

Evidence of new music has begun to surface this summer, yet these details about her new album come ahead of schedule; Gaga previously revealed to fans on Twitter that she’d be announcing the title—of the material she’s already played for her record label—in September. If she can’t wait four weeks, it must be really good.

Lady Gaga Confirms New Album's Title Is ARTPOP



Lady Gaga's fans won't have to wait until September to learn the name of her next release after all. After tweeting out a photo of her new tattoo, which reads ARTPOP, last week, she took to Twitter over the weekend to confirm that the ink is indeed the name of her 2013 album release.

"Make sure when writing about my new album/project ARTPOP that you CAPITALIZE the title, *its all in the details* good morning twitter!" she wrote on Sunday.

Mother Monster originally revealed her plan to drop the album's title in September back in June before apparently getting antsy and releasing the name a month ahead of schedule. It's a title she's had in mind since MTV News spoke to her last year.

"I've started writing it and I have the name for it, and all the concepts are beginning to flourish and take place," she said in December. "I'm excited to put it out, but it's not done yet. So I'll put it out when it's done."

Gaga has been making time to record ARTPOP while on her Born This Way tour. She reportedly enlisted the help of Whitesnake guitarist Doug Aldrich for the album. The twosome hit the studio with Gaga's longtime collaborator DJ White Shadow in Los Angeles.

She also recently teased fans with a new song, blasting it out of her car while in New York City. She even implied that the dance track would be the first single from the new album. DJ White Shadow produced the track.

Gaga has also been playing her new piano-heavy song "Princess Die" while on tour. During one stop, she opened up a bit about her next album. "Let's just say I feel, I feel that when I wrote Born This Way, I demonstrated a sense of maturity," she said. "And I feel that on the next album, there's a lack of maturity — it's a tremendous lack of maturity or sense of responsibility."

Lady Gaga has released a personal picture which shows herself and boyfriend Taylor Kinney posing in the swimming pool sharing a kiss.

The 'Marry The Night' singer can be seen naked in the water as she embraces the Shameless actor in the intimate shot – which she uploaded to her Littlemonsters social networking site.

Her eyes are closed as her lips touch Taylor's and she is held in the Hollywood star's arms.

The pair have long been linked with a romance despite never openly discussing their relationship.

They were also recently spotted together in New York as they dined out in Gaga's father's reastauant in the Big Apple/

The star has also extended her 'Born This Way Ball' world tour which will now visit Latin America in October and November.

The outing will hit the UK next month with two shows at London's Twickenham Stadium and one at the Manchester Arena.
