She was definitely NOT making fun of herself with Born This Way. She certainly lost the campiness that made her so successful with The Fame.
She's called the BTWB an over the top mess and most of the lyrics on BTW that people call terrible are actually tongue-in-cheek. She may have been less obvious about it but the girl hasn't actually taken herself that seriously outside of when BTW was the current single and she was REALLY pushing the "accept yourself" message

The only reason she's asking everybody to capitalize it is because the two most successful artists of last year (ADELE and LMFAO) had their names capitalized on iTunes.

You are right Adele and LMFAO trademarked the capitalization of titles, it makes all sence!
i think ARTPOP just looks tacky. Artpop or ArtPop is much better imo
