Interscope rejected Gaga's single choices: was it a mistake?
Earlier on LM.com, Gaga revealed that Interscope rejected Gaga's proposed singles-run for 'Born This Way,' which was:
1) Born This Way
2) Marry The Night
----Album Release----
3) Scheiße
4) The Edge of Glory
Do you think that Gaga's proposed single choices would have helped the singles from the album perform better? Gaga also said on the chat that Interscope wanted to release 'Judas' as the second single as they saw the song as an easy hit which would chart well, and therefore replaced 'Marry The Night' with 'Judas.' Many people argue that 'Judas' killed the BTW era's momentum which it arguably did, which caused Interscope to rush release 'The Edge of Glory,' which was the reason that Gaga couldn't get the director she wanted for the video (Joseph Kahn was not the 1st choice director), which caused creative differences, which led to the video we have for TEOG now
But yes, I think it would have been better if she continues with marry the night.. would have been better if she started the era with marry the night...
and wasn't there a rumour that that is what gaga wanted at first? I say all of this is lies
MTN certainly would have been a better choice than Judas, but then if they would have released Scheibe after that it would have halted the era just like Judas did as the 2nd single.
I don't think it would have changed much at all. Marry The Night would probably have Edge Of Glory's chart peak because the Monsters in general were going crazy due to the Born This Way hype pre-release. But then again it's probably likely that Edge Of Glory would have ended up barely hitting the top 10 like Judas or You & I did. ScheiBe would have completely flopped though just like Marry The Night did in real life.

I disagree. Scheiße would smash in Europe and I'd bet it would be big in the US too.

I honestly think that Scheisse would have smashed with a good radio edit
