Paris Hilton has donated $5,000 to a fan struggling with muscular dystrophy.
The pop star met Mike Oliveri in a Los Angeles nightclub in early July (12), and, touched by his story, the heiress cut her new friend a hefty cheque to help offset the cost of his medical bills.
Thanking the fashion designer for her generosity in a video posted on his personal website, Oliveri says, "I met her about a week-and-a-half ago... I just thought she was a very sweet person... We became friends and... she just sent me $5,000 and saved my life, literally... "Paris, the magnitude of appreciation I have for what you did, you didn't have to do that.
I just thought she was a very sweet person
Just our friendship alone is worth more than you could ever imagine.
Having somebody to talk to everyday, and somebody that understands, and somebody that cares, I really appreciate what you did and I hope the whole world understands what an amazing person you are.
Words cannot express how I feel.
I just want to say, Paris, I love you, thank you so much". And Oliveri hopes his story helps others get to know the real Hilton. He adds, "There's a lot of bad, horrible press about Paris...
She's not what everybody thinks she is.
She is an incredible person...
The media, the press, the tabloids - why don't you just get a life...
i had just fell the night before so i was very weak. but i wanted to share with everyone the kind of friend that Paris Hilton has been to me.
there are many people that have a very incorrect view on who she is. she not only saved me this month. but her friendship is one that is true and real. she is an amazing person.
i think everyone should know that instead of watching tv and reading mindless tabloids. im lucky to have such a good friend. thank you Paris, see u when u get back!
She literally never stops giving back. What an angel tbh.
I remember watching Ellen's episode with Paris pulling a prank on some store guy, Ellen ordered her to tell people around her to stop staring at her but she didn't coz she doesn't wanna be mean to people. She's getting a bad rap for being rich spoiled brat but she's not a bad person.

Right. I get why people might not like her as a celebrity, but I've never understood why people act like she's not a great person. So long as she keeps the sense of humor she has about herself, she's fine.
