Sales count less than airplay in the new formula. I remember an ATRL member was able to back-calculate the math and said formula is approximately:

Sales *0.40 + Airplay *0.55 + Streaming *0.05 = Total points

Phillip = 278 sales *0.4 = 111.2 points
Bieber = 144 sales*0.4 + 53 airplay *0.55 + 690 streaming *0.05 = 57.6+29.15+34.5 = 121.2 points

This formula seems to work every time that I plug in numbers.

you can try to back calculate with the data below by using 55% radio + 40% digital + 5% on-demand, just to find out if the respective total points match with the top 5 position : )

The gap between airplay is more than enough to over take sales. Everything that is above Rihanna in sales isn't doing well in airplay and streaming. Which Rihanna is doing well in those two.

Anyways if airplay > sales, then Blow Me wouldnt have made it at #9 on the Hot 100, when it was #23 on radio songs and wasn't even on the On Demand chart. Whistling was #7 on the Hot 100, when it was #3, #16, and #34 on HDS, On Demand, and Radio Songs respectively.

Doesn't On Demand not cover all streaming towards Hot 100? Maybe they don't count YouTube views towards the On Demand, but they do count it towards Hot 100.
