Good Afternoon ladies and boys, how are all?


Well lately i have been increasingly interested in starting my own business / investing and learning more about stocks and bonds. Do any of you own your own business or plan on starting your own? Also do you or you invest or know how to buy stocks etc? If so please share some of your knowledge with me. I want to know all that you are willing to share.

I researched and bought shares (through my parents) when I was 14. It's value has grown over 50 dollar.


If you're just getting started. Invest in high, safe paying dividends.

I run a small business doing freelance IT jobs (web design, hell, I do other people's homework in other schools) Its just to hold me over until I graduate next year. I can give a little insight.
1.
I'm a guy.


2. Make up your mind on what you want you want to do. What are you good at? Are you college, whats your major?

3. Set goals for yourself. Plan out where you want to be at in a month, 3 months, 6 months, a year etc. Is it short term, Do you want to make a career out of it? How much money are you trying to make.

4. Make friends. Friends know people, who know people. For example, I have a lecturer I worked under who teaches in my school and on another campus, He gives his struggling students my number.

5. Promote, Promote Promote. put up flyers, tell your friends, give out samples of your work. And speaking of friends...


6 **** YOUR FRIENDS. This is a very important part. If they want your services, give em a discount BUT NEVER WORK FOR FREE. They aint payin your bills... which comes to another point


7. NEVER WORK FOR FREE. Know your worth. You may have to take a loss or two in the beginning to get your name out, but know youre worth. And I'm pretty sure its more than zero.

8. Be patient. youre not gonna turn a profit and be overloaded with jobs in your first month. You might not see results until the first 3 months or so.

There's a couple more pointers that should be obvious (Invest, keep at it, **** like that) If it omes to me I'll post it, but thats all for now.

Make connections. Definitely make connections. They will come in handy soon. Go to seminars to meet people interested in stocks, options and/or futures. My dad use to go to tons of those seminars. He met people there that helped him out a lot.
