Maybe this is just my opinion, but the general public agrees.
In The Zone is the ONLY album in Britney's catalog that feels artistic and stands out the most.
The approach she took with the album and her input and time spent on it is different than all the rest of her albums.
Baby and Oops! are just simple teeny-bubblegum pop albums with the exception of a couple songs.
'Britney' shows a new side of Britney, but it doesn't stand out as an amazing artistic pop album like P!nk, and Christina's sophomore and third albums.
'Circus' and 'Blackout' have amazing growth but they lack heart, soul, and feelings. It's like listening to someone singing because they are forced.
'Femme Fatale' is just generic and anyone from the pop girls can pull off singing the album.
In The Zone is a classic, and I can't think of ONE artist who would be able to pull off singing all her songs on there. It's pure Britney, the definition of who she is as an artist and it IRKS me when I see someone saying Femme Fatale or Blackout is her best album.

'In The Zone' is what 'Stripped' is to Christina. It's what '4' is to Beyonce, it's what 'Marshall Mathers' is to Eminem. It is PROOF that if Britney were to take control of her music career that she CAN make music that can be critically acclaimed, and she can be seen as a Artist, not a pop singer.

I agree that is her best album. I think it was her creative peak and her best era dance-wise.
It is her most diverse and experimental album. She had urban dance songs, reggae (HookUp), middle-eastern (Outrageous), trip hop/trance, a few ballads, and a hint of electro. That album had her best choreo (Me Against the Music), and two of her best songs ever: Everytime and Toxic.

Brave New Girl is some filler BS though. I dont use that song.

Ke$ha singing Criminal? Gaga singing Seal It With A Kiss? Kylie singing Hold It Against Me? I don't think so. A lot of those songs are just quantifiably Britney and simply sound like her.

In The Zone is her best.

Well, as amazing as In the Zone is vocally, production-wise, and lyric-wise, I still prefer Femme Fatale. Femme Fatale is a much more cohesive record than In the Zone and even though it lacks that artistic edge that In the Zone has, Femme Fatale is the definition of the perfect POP record.


EDIT: It also happens to be Britney's best reviewed album since ...Oops! I Did it Again.

I think it's her best too. I really like Blackout, but a lot of the songs just seemed like she was featured as a vocalist on Danja's tracks.
